Using External Code Editors & Tools

Pinegrow is not an all-or-nothing web development solution. You can use Pinegrow alongside your favorite code editor or IDE like Atom, Visual Studio, Sublime Text, Vim, Emacs, WebStrom or Adobe Dreamweaver.

Use Pinegrow for those tasks where it can save you lots of time and effort while using other tools for tasks more suited to them.

Pinegrow can connect directly with Atom and VS Code for seamless editing experience or it can work with any other editor based on watching file changes.

You can also use it with BrowserSync to get a live browser preview of the document you are editing in Pinegrow.

Atom

Now you can use Atom and Pinegrow together: code parts that are easier to code in Atom and use Pinegrow’s powerful tools to work with HTML structure, Bootstrap, WordPress, master pages, components and so on.

Visual Studio Code

Now you can use Visual Studio Code and Pinegrow together: code parts that are easier to code in VS Code and use Pinegrow’s powerful visual tools to work with HTML structure, styling, Bootstrap, WordPress, master pages, components and so on.

Other code editors and IDEs

Pinegrow can be used with any external code editor. It detects when a file is saved outside of Pinegrow and then refreshes modified parts.

Live preview on any device or browser with Browsersync

Being able to immediately LIVE preview every change to the website you are developing with Pinegrow, from any device (desktop, mobile …) and from your favorite browser without any action on your part is a recurring request that has been the subject of many discussions in the community forum.
